Dave Matthews – Grace is Gone

I didn’t discover Dave Matthews until I moved to Charlottesville, where he got his start, and is a local hero today. I’m glad I found him because his music is very different – a far cry from my regular trop rock. Well worth a listen, if you don’t know his work.

Anyway, these words jumped out at me today:

One drink to remember, then another to forget.

His words are simple, yet powerful. Walking that fine line between wanting to remember, and needing to forget. Here’s the video – if you don’t know his work, take a minute and listen. It’s haunting and touching and thought-provoking, all at the same time.

I don’t know if you know, but my brother and his family go all
over the country just to go to Dave Matthews concerts.
They just went twice in September to NY–but they have gone to
multple venues to hear his work

I had no idea, Terri! How cool. I can see why! I missed him in WA for years, and am sorry I didn’t realize how talented he is. I’ll catch him live one of these days.

I spent some time looking at old pictures this weekend – were we ever that young?? LOL!
